What skills are required to drive a Greyhound bus?

Our driver screening process is very stringent and leaves no stone un-turned, in our quest to hire the best drivers possible. In order to drive a Greyhound bus, drivers need to meet certain requirements and skills, such as: 
 
A responsible attitude;
Ability to get on well with different people;
Good verbal communication;
The ability to read and speak English at a reasonable level;
Good time-keeping;
Ability to solve problems and handle responsibility;
Be dedicated, well-groomed and polite;
Possess good vision and hearing;
Be proficient in customer care;
Mechanical abilities
 
Other very important requirements include: Having a National Senior Certificate; a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and a code 11/EC licence. You will also need at least three to five years driving experience.
 
Being a Greyhound bus driver requires one to liaise with staff, customers and suppliers; adhere to fuel and speed policies as well as assisting with any customer enquiries our problems. You need to enjoy the job, working with the public and be able to communicate and handle a lot of responsibility.
